Ronald Starnes

Ronald Starnes, 67, passed away Wednesday, April 2, 2014. He was born in York County, SC on August 24, 1946, son of Fannie Craig Starnes Williams and the late Charles Otto Starnes. He was also preceded in death by his brother, Steve Starnes. Mr. Starnes honorably served in the U. S. Marines. Funeral services will be held Saturday, April 5, 2014 at 2:00 PM in Gordon Funeral Chapel, 1904 Lancaster Avenue, Monroe, NC 28112. The family will visit with friends and relatives from 1:00 - 1:45 PM prior to the funeral. In addition to his mother, Fannie Williams and step-father, John Williams, Ronald is survived by his son, Eric Starnes and wife April of Monroe; daughters Veronica Covington and husband Jim of Monroe; and Ronda Starnes Medlin of Summerton, SC; sister, Elaine Price Belk and husband Bill of Mooresville; granddaughter Regan Covington; sister-in-law, Doris Starnes; step-sisters Robin Tillery of Rock Hill and Debbie Jones of Isle of Palms, SC; nephews and nieces Chuck Starnes, Deanna Huneycutt, Amanda Price and Brian Price and dear friends Jerry and Michelle Thomas of Monroe. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice Palliative Care, Charlotte Region, 1420 East Seventh Street, Charlotte, NC 28204.
