Ronald Aaron "Ronnie" Walters

Ronald Aaron “Ronnie” Walters, 81, passed away Saturday, June 7, 2025, at his residence surrounded by his family. He was born February 25, 1944, son of the late William Bryant Walters and Vera Louise Efird Walters. He is also preceded in death by his siblings Clarence Walters, Doris Parker, brother-in-law, Bill, Geneva Curran, brother-in-law, Ken, Bryte Hyatt, brother-in-law, CB, Bennett Walters, Bobby Gene Walters, Melvin Walters, sister-in-law Sally, Mozelle Walters, Evelyn Polk, brother-in-law, Ray, brother-in-law, Jerry Thomas, and a grandson Austin Blake Morton.

Ronnie retired from Hughes Plumbing Supply with over 60 years of service and dedication to his customers that were more like his family. He had a love of NASCAR, lounging by his pool with family and friends sharing tall tales, laughing, and getting the grill gassed up and ready for dinner. He loved and spent many hours with his best friend, Pookie, that was at his feet at every move that he made.

A funeral service to honor his life and legacy will be held at 1:00 PM, Wednesday, June 11, 2025, at New Home Baptist Church, 1617 New Home Church Road, Peachland, NC 28113. He will be laid to rest following the service in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends and family prior to the service from 11:00 AM until 12:45 PM in the church sanctuary.

Ronnie is survived by his loving wife of 42 years, Barbara Collins Walters, daughters Lisa Morton, (Patrick), Donna Walters, Denise McCrae (Mark), sons Benny Baucom (Charlene), Tim Baucom (Dawn), six grandchildren, Baylee Anders (Matthew), Brandon Morton (Lani), Dathan D’Agostino (Marco) Julie Byrd, Courtney Campbell (Vern), Tom Baucom (Kaylie), seven great-grandchildren, Madi Blaire Anders, Kiersten Byrd, Adelyn Byrd, Zeke Campbell, Isla Campbell, Mac Baucom, Lucy Baucom, and his sister Miriam Thomas, and many nieces and nephews and greats that is loved deeply.
