Ronnie Louis Edwards

Ronnie Louis Edwards, 79, passed away Sunday, August 28, 2022, peacefully at his home. He was born in Union County, July 7, 1943, son of the late Carl Louis Edwards and Irene Dickerson Edwards. He is also preceded in death by his sister, Marie Flow, brother-in-law, Robert Flow and brother Ted Edwards.

Funeral services will be held 2:00PM Wednesday, August 31, 2022 at Gordon Funeral Chapel, 1904 Lancaster Ave., Monroe, NC 28112. Burial will follow at Lakeland Memorial Park.

Ronnie served his country in the US Army from 1966-1968. He was a faithful member of Lawyer Springs Primitive Baptist Church where he served as deacon.

Ronnie is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Janet Helms Edwards, two daughters; Ravonda E. Robinson (Wesley) of Monroe. NC, Sheri E. Mingus (James) of Willard NC, three sisters; Lois Ellwanger (David) of Richmond VA., Brenda Baucom (Dolan) of Monroe NC and Grace Faris (Melvin) of Monroe NC, three grandchildren; Hayden Mingus (Katherine) of Wilmington NC, Carlyn Mingus (Jesus Torres) of Willard NC and Shayna Robinson of Monroe NC, and one great-granchild Felina Torres of Willard NC.

The family of Mr. Edwards would like to extend a special thanks to Hospice of Union County for their excellent care and dedication, as well as, Dr. Alan Skarbnik and staff at Novant Health Cancer Institute, Hematologist & Oncologist for their compassionate care during this journey with our family.

Friends and family are welcome to pay their respects from 4:00PM until 7:00PM Tuesday, August 30, 2022 at Gordon Funeral Service. The Edwards family will not be present during this time.
