Dateline: Monroe, NC Mr. Roosevelt Alvie Francis, age 90, passed away February, 19 2021 in Monroe NC. Born May 3, 1930 in the Virgin Islands, a son of the late Charles and Esther Donovan Francis. He was a retired security guard and a member of the Pagelin SDA Church. Mr. Francis was preceded in death by his parents and his wife, Lorna Thomas Francis. Survivors include his five sons, Dwayne Francis, Vance Francis, Danna Francis, Burton Francis and Dale Francis; one daughter, Donna Francis; four brothers, Alberto Francis, Evan Francis, Walter Francis and Joyle Francis; three sisters, Austril Callwood, Ivah Smith and Dr. Millicent Francis-Lane; eight grandchildren and nineteen great-grandchildren. The Celebration of Life Funeral Service for Mr. Francis will be 12:00 noon, Sunday, February 28, 2021 at Gordon Funeral Service Chapel. The family will receive friends from 11:00am until 11:50am prior to the service at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the Charity of one’s choice.
