Rosa Lee Melton

Dateline: Monroe, NC Rosa Lee Melton, 90, died Monday, August 14, 2006. She was born in Chesterfield County, SC on February 20, 1916 daughter of the late Spoffard Lee and Ada Moree Funderburk. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, August 16, 2006 at 2:00 PM in Sandy Ridge Baptist Church. Burial will follow in Liberty Hill Baptist Church Cemetery in Chesterfield County, SC. She was preceded in death by her husbands, Cull Sikes Richardson and A. J. Melton, daughter, Diane Aldridge and brother, Joseph Funderburk. Mrs. Melton is survived by her son, Sidney C. Richardson of Gaffney, S.C., daughter, Sylvia R. Starnes of Monroe, brother, Sammie Funderburk of Lancaster, SC, sisters, Alma F. Deason of Matthews and Marian F. Evans of Pageland, SC, 12 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren, and 10 great great grandchildren. The family will receive friends Wednesday prior to the funeral at the church from 12:30 until 1:45 PM and at other times at her daughter’s home. The family would like to extend a special thanks to the staff of Monroe Square and her roommate, Ruby Long for their love and care.
