Roy Wayne Collins

Roy Wayne Collins, 78, passed away Monday, August 27, 2018. He was born November 9, 1939, son of the late Roy H. and Eva Collins. He was a tool and die maker for Tool Service Engineering and Wirco of Pineville, NC. He was also the owner of Wayne Martha Grocery and Wayne Martha Upholstery Shop. He raised cattle for 30 years. He served his Lord at Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church as a deacon, Sunday School teacher, Sunday School Superintendent and Training Union Director. Funeral services will be Friday, August 31, 2018 at 2:00 PM in Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church, 2528 Stack Rd., Monroe, NC 28112. Burial will follow in Lakeland Memorial Park. The family will visit with friends and relatives on Thursday, August 30, 2018 from 6:00 - 8:00 PM in Gordon Funeral Service, 1904 Lancaster Avenue, Monroe, NC. Mr. Collins is survived by his wife, Martha W. Collins; children, Ricky and wife Marilyn Collins, Randy and wife Kristi Collins and Sandra and Edwin Helms; sisters, Ruth Baucom and Ranell Carnes; grandchildren, Daniel and Miranda Collins, Dillion Collins, Ryan and Tamara Collins, Collin Helms and Brittany Huey, and Colbi Helms; and five great-grandchildren.
