Roy Herman Gleason

Roy Herman Gleason, 99, of Waxhaw, NC passed away on Tuesday, January 7, 2025. He was born in Erie, PA, on December 28, 1925 son to the late Claude Herman Gleason and Florence Lucille Leet Gleason. He is also preceded by his wife Edith Mae Baur Gleason, son, Robert Donald Gleason, two brothers, Richard Paul Gleason and Kermit Gleason.

A funeral service will be held at 12:30 PM on Saturday, January 18, 2025 at Mineral Springs Methodist Church, 5915 Old Waxhaw-Monroe Road, Monroe, NC 28112, with burial to follow in Waxhaw City Cemetery. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 11:00 AM until

12:15 PM in the CLC at Mineral Springs Methodist Church.

He was a United States Navy WWII Veteran and served as a missionary Pilot for many years.

Roy is survived by his daughters, Rebecca “Becky” Pius of Tallahessee, Florida, Barbara Marie Hilgendorf (Donald) of Lancaster, SC, six grandchildren, Jonathan Pius, Sarah Pius Wong (Ixhabi), Donald Robert Gleason (Audette), Edward Gleason (Angelle), Peter Hilgendorf, and Daniel Hilgendorf; seven great grandchildren, and sister-in-law, Bea Gleason.
