Dateline: Monroe, NC Ruby Lee “Mrs. Ruby” Helms, 78, passed away on Sunday, April 19, 2009. She was born in Union County, NC on February 15, 1931 daughter of the late Clarance and Ester Walden Mangum. Mrs. Ruby was a Food Lion employee. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, April 22, 2009 at 2:00 PM in the Gordon Funeral Chapel. Burial will follow in Lakeland Memorial Park. She is survived by her husband, Muriel Helms, daughter, Brenda Kay Pressley of Monroe, brothers, Clarance Mangum, Jr. and wife Elsie of Rock Hill, SC, Paul Mangum and wife Janet and Carroll Mangum, all of Monroe, sisters, Irene Robinson, Loretta Chaney and husband, Hayden, all of Monroe, Linda Carrraway and husband Bill of Waxhaw, grandchildren, Jeramy Pressley and wife Sunni, Kendra Costello and husband Bryan all of Monroe, great grandchildren, Cole Pressley, Monika, Hanna and Alexis Costello. The family will receive friends Tuesday evening from 6:00 until 8:00 at Gordon Funeral Service, 1904 Lancaster Ave., Monroe, NC 28112.
