A full obituary will be published shortly. Russell Allan Atwell, 62, of Monroe, passed away Friday, January 3, 2020 at his residence. He was born November 21, 1957 and to Roy Franklin Atwell and the late Marian Blackwelder Atwell, also preceding him in death is a sister, Sheila Blackwelder. A memorial service will be held 7:00 PM Thursday, January 9, 2020 at Trinity Baptist Church 2613 Concord Hwy, Monroe, NC 28110 with the Rev. Steve Watkins officiating. The family will receive friends before the service from 6:00PM to 7:00PM at the church. In addition to his father, Roy F Atwell and his wife, Joan Atwell, Russell is survived by two daughters, Ashley Helms & Tara Atwell, Four brothers, Randy Atwell (Dee), Rodney Atwell, Ric Atwell (Andrea) & David Barker (Erin) , a sister, Beth Fenlong. and 2 grandchildren, Parker Spittle & Alivia Helms.
