Ruth Clara Crook

Mrs. Ruth Caudle Crook, 93, of Monroe, NC passed away at Hospice of Union County on Wednesday, October 31, 2018. She was born July, 21, 1925 in Anson County, to the late John and Anna Kiker Caudle. Ruth is also preceded in death by loving husband, Earl Crook and son-in-law Marion Byrum. A funeral service will be held at 3:00pm Saturday, November 3, 2018 at High Hill Primitive Baptist Church; 2225 Concord Hwy, Monroe, NC 28110, with burial in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 2:00pm until 2:45pm in the church sanctuary. Ruth was a retired homemaker; with many careers and joys of life. She was a faithful member of High Hill Primitive Baptist Church since 1964. She was also able to travel in retirement with her husband of 53 years, her ability with crafts was shared with many… from painting, and quilting to making decorative baskets. She was also a devout sports fan; the Atlanta Braves, NC Tarheels, and the Washington Redskins. Time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren was the most precious---and closest to her heart. She is survived by her children, Teresa Byrum of Indian Trail and Mike Crook, wife Terry of Monroe. Five grandchildren Keynan Byrum, Erin Walden (Chris) and Jay Byrum, Will Crook (Amanda) and Blair Greene (Tyler). Four great-grandhchildren, Garrett Walden, Riley Walden, Raelyn Crook and Hayes Crook.
