Ruth Faulk Norwood, age 76, passed away on Tuesday, September 20, 2022. She was born in Union county on June 26, 1946; daughter to the late George Edwin Faulk and Eula Godfrey Faulk. She is also preceded in death by her sister Betty Jo Parker.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM Saturday, September 24, 2022 at Walkersville Evangelical Presbyterian Church 6204 Brady Rd, Waxhaw, NC 28173 with burial to follow at the church cemetery. The family will receive friends following the committal services in the church fellowship hall.
Ruth loved working at Bonds Grove United Methodist Church. Throughout her life she worked in different roles at different church organizations, one of which being Central Church of God where she worked in the kitchen. She loved to cook for everybody. She also loved dearly her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was the sweetest, kindest person in the world and she will be missed by many.
Ruth is survived by her husband of fifty-eight years Clyde Norwood, three sons; Steve Norwood (Marlena) of Tradesville, Chris Norwood of Waxhaw, Patrick Norwood (Shannon) of Monroe, one daughter; Pam Gordon (Mitchell) of Waxhaw, three brothers; Melvin Faulk (Susan) of Waxhaw, Norman Faulk of Waxhaw, Thomas Faulk of Monroe, one sister; Peggy Wilson (Donald) of Monroe, seven grandchildren; Stephen Norwood, Adam Gordon, Justin Norwood, Kyle Norwood, Joseph Gordon, Pruette Norwood, William Norwood, and three great-grandchildren; Hensley Gordon, Hollis Gordon, and Clara Gordon.
