Sammy Lee Grant

Sammy Lee Grant, 75 of Monroe, NC passed away on July 16, 2023. He was born in Monroe, NC on January 4, 1948, son to the late Sam and Lucy Grant. He is also preceded in death by his daughter Jennifer Leigh Grant.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 1:00 PM on Friday, July 21, 2023, at Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church, 2524 Stack Rd, Monroe, NC 28112. The family will receive friends following the service.

Sammy graduated from Wingate University and retired from the City of Monroe ABC Board. He was a member of Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church and had a passion for serving with the NC Baptist Disaster Relief. Sammy had a love of nature and often camped and hiked the Appalachian Trail. He was incredibly proud of his son Matthew and his greatest joy was spending time with his family and spoiling his grandsons.

He is survived by his son Matthew Grant (Jessie) and grandsons, Jeremiah, Jonah, and Levi Grant all of Waxhaw, brother Ricky Grant (Debbie), and nieces Brooke and Brandie Grant.
