Samuel Alvin Lathan, 84, of Monroe passed away Monday, May 28, 2018. He was born in Union County on May, 15, 1934, son of the late Samuel Brickman and Mildred Richardson Lathan. He was also preceded in death by his loving wife, Carolyn Morris Lathan. He is survived by his two sons, Warren Lathan, wife Leslie of Monroe, and Darren Lathan wife Tracey of Charlotte, six grandchildren, Sidnye Askew, husband Spencer, Savannah Leigh Haynes, husband Jacob, Austin Lathan, Rachel Lathan, Rebecca Lathan and Jack Lathan.
