Sandra Helms Baucom, 75, of Indian Trail, NC went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, May 20, 2026. She was born in Union County, NC on March 18, 1951, daughter of the late Neal Reid Helms and Winnie Lee Helms. She is also preceded in death by her husband of 51 years, Dennis Lane Baucom Sr., her brother Mitchell Helms, and her sister in-law JoAnn Helms.

Sandra graduated from Sun Valley High School in 1969. She served her Lord and Savior in the church choir, children’s ministry, and Sunday School ministry. However, her greatest ministry was in the home, supporting her husband through his military enlistment and professional business career, caretaking for her parents and parents-in-law, and lovingly raising her three children. In addition, her grandchildren were the lights in her life as she proudly and lovingly watched over them, taught them to love the Lord, baked them homemade biscuits, and made as well as received numerous jokes and playful teasing. She was a loving wife, mother, mawmaw, and friend.

Sandra is survived by her two daughters, Angela Huneycutt (David), and Yvonne Allen (Andy); her son, Lane Baucom (Brandy); her six grandchildren, Kaela Baucom, Daniel Huneycutt, Brody Baucom, Ella Allen, Jordan Baucom, Callie Baucom; and by her four brothers, Tony Helms, Larry Helms (Vickie), Tim Helms (Teresa), Steve Helms (Carol), and sister in-law Cami Helms.

The family will receive friends and loved ones prior to the service from 10:00 am until 10:45 am on Saturday, May 23, 2026, in the church sanctuary at Ebenezer Baptist Church, 1417 Unionville - Indian Trail Rd W, Indian Trail, NC 28079. A service to celebrate the life of Mrs. Baucom will begin at 11:00 am in the church sanctuary. Burial will follow at Price Cemetery.
