Sara Ann Miles Parler, 91, passed away on Wednesday, September 30, 2026. She was born in Spartanburg, SC, on August 30, 1935, daughter to the late Alfred McKinley Miles and Sarah Margaret McCulloch Miles. She is also preceded in death by her loving husband of 65 years, Robert (Bob) Eugene Parler, Sr, two brothers, Conway Miles and Mack Miles, 4 great-grandchildren, and son-in-law, Arnold Hill.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00PM on Saturday, October 10, 2026, in the chapel of Gordon Funeral Service, 1904 Lancaster Ave, Monroe, NC 28112. The family will receive friends and family following the service.

If you knew her, you loved her. There was always a smile on her face and open arms to hug you. When you walked through the door you were going to be offered food and drinks. She spoiled us all with homemade meals, freshly baked yeast rolls, and scrumptious desserts, with caramel cakes being a favorite.

Though she held jobs outside the home, her favorite and most important was being a homemaker, mom, and grandmother.

We know her friends and family have so many memories of the wonderful woman she was. We would like to invite you to come share your stories and condolences with us.

Sara is survived by her five children, Ramona Parler Hill, Butch Parler (Patti), Al Parler (Wanda), Rhett Parler (Shawn), Anna Parler Dahl (Joey), twelve grandchildren, 40 great-grandchildren, 14 great-great grandchildren, and one great-great-great grandchild.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Hospice of Union County, 700 W Roosevelt Blvd, Monroe, NC 28110, The American Breast Cancer Society, or a charity of your choice.
