Jean Conder Long, 88, passed away Thursday, October 13, 2016. She was born December 20, 1927 in Union County, daughter of the late Harry Winfred and Etta Mae Long Conder. She is also preceded in death by her sister, Helen Conder Harkey. Mrs. Long worked with her husband, Fred, in the family business, Long Wiring Company, until her retirement. Funeral services will be Sunday, October 16, 2016 at 3:00 PM in First Baptist Church, Monroe, NC. Burial will follow in Lakeland Memorial Park. The family will visit with friends and relatives from 2:00 - 2:45 PM prior to the service in the church parlor. Mrs. Long is survived by her loving husband of 71 years, Fred Long of Monroe; daughters, Judy Davis and husband John of Mount Dora, FL and Debra Reed and husband Ron of Monroe; grandchildren, Blair Veatch of Mount Dora, FL, Chelsea Reed of Oakboro and Fredrick Reed of Monroe; great-grandchildren, Madison Veatch and Jack Veatch; and many nieces and nephews.
