Sarah "Sherry" Redlinger

Sherry Redlinger passed away in her home in Monroe, NC on Thursday October 13, 2011. She was born July 21, 1924 in New York City, New York. Sherry is survived by her family including 6 children, 15 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. Her children include Mark and Deborah Redlinger of Tifton, GA, Ron Redlinger of Warner Robins, GA, and Steve and Julie Redlinger of Savannah, GA; Holly and Dan Prouty of Monroe NC, Bonnie and David Shaw of Monroe NC, and Mary Jensen of Waxhaw, NC. Her grandchildren include Mary Elizabeth, Michael, Matthew and Michelle Prouty, David and Jason Shaw, Kenny and Dani Jensen, Kristy Redlinger, Marcus and Jamie Redlinger, Kelly Redlinger, Kyle and Maria Rutland, Ryan and Meredith Rutland, Meagan and Madison Redlinger. Her great grandchildren include Piper, Kaylynn, and Gracie Redlinger, Will Rutland, Bryce Rutland, Brittany Heyd, Ashley Weekly, and Sarah Perine. Sherry and her late husband Bud enjoyed their retirement years traveling and experiencing life and new cultures from around the world. Sherry enjoyed gathering with friends and family to socialize and play games; most recently, cards with the Wednesday Group at the Ellen Fitzgerald Senior Center. Most of all, Sherry loved visits from her grandchildren and hearing stories about their ever changing and growing lives. A Rosary service will be held Friday, October 14, 2011 at 6:00 PM in the Gordon Funeral Chapel, 1904 Lancaster Ave., Monroe, NC 28112. The family will greet friends following the Rosary. Funeral services will be held Saturday, October 15, 2011, at 11:00 AM in Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, 725 Deese St., Monroe, NC 28112. Burial will follow in Lakeland Memorial Park.
