Shelba Austin Goodman

Shelba Austin Goodman, 72, of Monroe, NC passed away on Wednesday, April 13, 2022. She was born in Union County on May 20, 1949, daughter to the late Horace Dean Austin and Hazel Hill Austin.

A funeral service will be held at 3:00PM on Saturday, April 16, 2022 at Lakeview Baptist Church, 4602 Concord Hwy, Monroe, NC 28110, with burial to follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 1:30PM until 2:45PM in the church sanctuary.

She was born and raised in the Unionville Community. She spent her teaching career with Union County Public Schools and retired after 30 years from Unionville Elementary School in 2001.

Shelba is survived by her loving husband Richard Jackson Goodman, and their children, Daniel Goodman (Lesa), and Dawn Goodman Ferguson (Denny), five grandchildren Caleb Jackson Goodman, Joshua Austin Goodman, Aaron James Goodman, Dennis “Tate’ Ferguson and
Victoria Alexa “Lexi” Ferguson, as well as her sister Sandra Stanley Comer.
