Sherry Nash Sims, 70, passed away on Wednesday, September 30, 2026, surrounded by her family. She was born in Union County, NC on December 25, 1955, daughter to the late Mitchell Nash and Margaret Manus Nash. She is also preceded in death by her sister, Vicki Helms, and stepson, Rodney Sikes.

A funeral service will be held at 3:00PM on Tuesday, October 6, 2026, at Mill Creek Baptist Church, 5417 Morgan Mill Rd, Monroe, NC 28110, with a burial to follow at the church cemetery. The family will receive friends and family prior to the service from 2:00PM – 2:45PM in the church sanctuary.

Sherry was always the life of the party, always smiling, laughing and carrying on with others. She enjoyed the mountains, loved cooking, and was an outstanding caregiver. Most of all she loved her family and spending time with them and being included in all aspects of their life.

Sherry is survived by her loving husband, Mark Sims, brother, Randy Nash (Jean), sister, Dawn York (Greg), two stepsons, Ricky Sikes (Denise) and Kirk Sims (Alisha), two stepdaughters, Regina McClendon and Evan Sims, six grandchildren, Ashley Tarlton (Jeremy), Pamela Hanson, Jarrod Sikes (Amy), Trenton English, Dawson Sims, Paetyn Johnson, Alita Sims, 6 great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews, whom she loved dearly.
