Shirley Mae Lee

Shirley Mae (Daniels) Lee, age 86 of Waxhaw, beloved wife of the late Jathan G. Lee, Jr., passed away January 9, 2025. Born in Manning, SC on April 24, 1938, she was the daughter of the late Ralph H. and Lillie Mae Woodle Daniels.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, January 16th at 2:00 PM in the Chapel of Gordon Funeral Service, 1904 Lancaster Ave., Monroe. Visitation will be from 1:00 to 1:45 PM prior to the service. Interment will follow in Lakeland Memorial Park, Monroe.

Shirley was a very devout Christian who loved her Lord and read her Bible every day. In her spare time, she enjoyed playing word searches and doing jigsaw puzzles. She also loved to read, and when watching TV she loved watching her gameshows.

Shirley was a very devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother and loved spending time with her family.

She is survived by two sons; Jathen G. Lee, III (Donna) of Waxhaw and Jonathan Lee (Melanie) of Lancaster, SC.; three daughters, Gail Cole (Rick) of Clemmons, the late Susan Nakamura (Donny) of Waxhaw and Brenda Mayberry (Dale) of Mint Hill and 9 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren. She is also survived by a sister, Carolyn Chilton of Florence, SC and furbaby Precious.
