Shirley Ann Gamble Long, 77, of Waxhaw, NC passed away on Sunday, March 9, 2025. She was born in Union County, NC on November 17, 1947, daughter to the late Ervin Wilson Gamble and Mary Alice McClain Gamble. She is also preceded in death by her grandson, Benjamin Helms.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, March 15, 2025, at Bright Spot Baptist Church, 1407 Lockhart Street, Monroe, NC 28112. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 1:00 PM until 1:45PM in the church. A private family burial will follow the service.

Shirley is survived by her three daughters, Debra Nash (Roger), Brenda Helms (Pastor Bobby), and Glenda Free; and her loving caring boyfriend, Billy Borders; brother, Carl Gamble, two sisters, Rachel Groce (Gerald), Grace Stack; seven grandchildren, Brooke Justice (Johnny), Robert Helms IV, Hannah Helms, Ashley Brown ( Travis), Kristin Nash, Daniel Free (Scarlett) and Megan Eddie (Dontavis), as well as nine great-grandchildren.
