Mrs. Shirley Louise Deese Smith, 77, died Saturday, June 20, 2015. Louise was born in Union County, NC November 18, 1937 daughter of the late Edward and Annie Asbury Simpson Deese. She was preceded in death by her husband John Neal Smith, Sr. December 4, 2014. Graveside funeral services will be held Tuesday, June 23, 2015 at 10:00 AM in Lakeland Memorial Park. Mrs. Smith is survived by her son John N. Smith, Jr. of Monroe; daughter Tina Simpson of Monroe; brother Larry Deese of Monroe; sisters Mavis Dew of Wake Forest, NC, Evelyn Pennigar of Monroe and Linda Rolfe of Charlotte, NC; four grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
