Mrs. Shirley Simpson Smith, 82, of Monroe, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, June 13, 2019. She was born on April 8, 1937 in Union County, NC daughter to the late James Roland & Annie Lee Simpson of New Salem, she was also preceded in death by her son Rodrick Mullis, brothers Steve Simpson and Robert Simpson. The family will receive friends from 4:00pm until 6:00pm on Sunday, June 16, 2019 at Gordon Funeral Service, 1904 Lancaster Ave, Monroe, NC 28112. A private service will be held at a later date. Shirley is survived by two sisters; Deane Reid and Lovene Greene, brother Troy Simpson (Sheila), daughter-n-law Sheila Mullis, two granddaughters; Desmarae Mullis Hayes (Brendan), Reannon Mullis Wright, (Robby) and six great-grandchildren; Reese, Rindy, and Radley Wright, Teagan, Kelsey, Jake Hayes.
