Smith Lee “Smitty” Underwood Jr., 67, passed away on May 29, 2019. He was born December 30, 1951 son of Smith Lee Underwood Sr., and the late Clara Mills Underwood. Funeral services will be officiated by Pastor Christopher Metze from the graveside at 3:00pm on Saturday, June 1, 2019 at Lakeland Memorial Park, 1901 Lancaster Ave., Monroe, NC 28112. The family will receive friends from 1:00pm until 2:45pm prior to the service at Gordon Funeral Service, 1904 Lancaster Ave., Monroe, NC 28112. Smitty is survived by his wife Susan Underwood; children, Danny Underwood, Matt Underwood (Kim), Sam Underwood (Michelle), and Sara Ehrenfried (Craig); step-son, Jody Groseclose (Christina); brothers, Gerald Underwood (Bet), and Tommy Underwood (Linda); and twelve grandchildren.
