Steve Hunter Presson

Steve “Hunter” Presson, 96, passed away peacefully September 3rd, 2023, at home surrounded by his loving family. He was born July 12th, 1927, son of the late Kathleen A. and Steve R. Presson. He is survived by his loving wife of 71 years, Nancy and five sons: Steve (Lanita) of Greensboro, NC, Philip (Lynn) of Monroe, NC, Jim (Karen) of Holly Springs, NC, David (Vicky) of Indian Trail, NC, and Michael (Dawn) of Indian Trail, NC; six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

A graveside service will be held at Monroe City Cemetery, 891 Bickett St. Monroe, NC 28112 on Friday, September 8, 2023 at 10:30 AM.

He was a lifelong member of Central United Methodist Church in Monroe where he served on various committees. In addition, he was an active member of the Monroe Civitan Club. He was an avid sportsman, coaching Monroe Little League Baseball for seventeen years and served as Booster Club President of Monroe High School Athletics. His love of country led him to a service in the United States Navy.
