Sue Sharp Deming

Sue Sharp Deming, 72, died Tuesday, September 25, 2007. Mrs., Deming was born in Blackwell, Oklahoma August 16, 1935 daughter of the late Wilbur Randal and Gladys Clemmons Sharp. Mrs. Deming received her RN at St. John’s School of Nursing in Tulsa, OK and also studied linguistics at the University of Oklahoma. Serving with Wycliffe Bible Translators, Sue and her husband lived 30 years in the eastern jungle of Peru. There they raised their 4 children. Sue and her husband received the prestigious Distinguished Service Award from the Peruvian government. Funeral services will be held in the Townsend Auditorium of the JAARS Center, 7405 JAARS Rd., Waxhaw, NC 28173 at 11:00 AM Saturday, September 29, 2007. Private graveside services will be in the Waxhaw Cemetery. Mrs. Deming is survived by her husband Doug H. Deming; son Douglas Kevin Deming of Port Orange, FL; daughters Karla Deming of Morrow, GA, Karen Koorn of Amsterdam, the Netherlands and Kristi Iwan of Lawrenceville, GA; brother Ronald Gene Sharp of Tulsa, Oklahoma and eight grandchildren. The family will receive friends Friday evening from 6:00 until 9:00 PM in the Townsend Auditorium of the JAARS Center.
