Sondra “Sue” Alexander Helms, 84, of Monroe, NC went home to be with the Lord on Monday, March 18, 2024. She was born in Union County on November 15, 1939, daughter to the late Will James Alexander and Annie Bingham Alexander. She is also preceded in death by her husband Elijah Nelson Helms and daughter, Reneé Helms, and brother-in-law Donald Helms.

A funeral service will be held at 3:00 PM on Thursday, March 21, 2024, in the chapel of Gordon Funeral Service with burial to follow in Lakeland Memorial Park. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 2:00 PM until 2:45 PM at Gordon Funeral Service and Crematory, 1904 Lancaster Ave, Monroe, NC 28112.

Sue is survived by her two sons, Ty Helms (Heather), and Alan Helms; sisters, Wilba Ann Helms and Trudy Alexander; five grandchildren, Rebekah Ramos (Angel), Elijah Helms (Natalie), Abigail Helms, Olivia Helms, and Madelyn Helms; eight great-grandchildren Levi Ramos, Lily Ramos, Liana Ramos, Lexy Ramos, Samuel Helms, Josie Helms, Evie Helms, and Gideon Helms.
