Susan Freeman Munn, age 80, formerly of Monroe, passed away on September 7, 2021 at Wake Medical Center in Raleigh, NC.
Born December 1, 1940 in Biscoe, NC, she was the daughter of Clarence E. and Margaret S. Freeman. Susan graduated from Greensboro College in 1963.
Susan married and moved to Monroe in 1974. She became a faithful employee, varsity cheerleading coach and volunteer at Monroe High School for 22 years. Mama Munn also spent numerous hours in the First Presbyterian Church kitchen cooking fabulous meals and playing the handbells.
After retirement, Susan moved to North Myrtle Beach, SC where she enjoyed reading, working crossword puzzles, sitting on her balcony, and entertaining anyone who visited her at The Kingston Kastle. In 2011 Mama moved to Garner, NC to be closer to her son David, where she met new friends who visited daily and always brought her sweet goodies and new books to read.
Susan is survived by two sons: John C. Munn IV (Janet) of Normal, Illinois and David F. Munn of Garner, NC; two grandsons: John C. Munn V and Andrew C. Munn of Normal, Illinois.
