Susan Helms Peninger

Susan Helms Peninger, 74, formerly of Waxhaw, NC passed away on January 24, 2024. She was born in Union County, NC on January 6, 1950, the daughter of the late Ben Wilson Helms and Myrtle Ann Foster Helms. She is also preceded in death by her husband, Johnny Monroe Peninger, and one son, George Kevin Peninger.

A funeral service will be held at 12:00 PM on Saturday, January 27, 2024, at King Memorial Baptist Church, 701 NC 75, Waxhaw, NC 28173 with burial to follow in the Marshville City Cemetery, 1017 NC 205, Marshville, NC 28103.

Susan is survived by her son: Johnny Keith Peninger and wife Sandy, daughter, Carol Ann Thompson and husband, David, three brothers, Benny Helms and wife, Cheryl, David Helms and wife, Mae, and Randy Helms, one sister, Polly Driggers and husband, Robert, five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends and family from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM Friday, January 26, 2024, at Gordon Funeral Service, 1904 Lancaster Ave., Monroe, NC 28112.
