Susan Parella Singletary

Susan P. Singletary, 85, sunrise, March 23, 1936 and entered sunset, November 2, 2021. Susan is the daughter of the late Willie and Dorothy Jones Singletary. She is also preceded in death by her adopted daughter, Diane Colleymore; five sisters and one brother. A celebration of life will be held at 11:00AM Monday, November 8, 2021 at Gordon Funeral Chapel, 1904 Lancaster Ave., Monroe NC 28112. Susan grew up in Harlem, NY and graduated high school in 1954. She then attended nursing school in 1957. Afterwards, she moved to Rockland County NY and worked at Rockland Psychiatric Center. In 1967. Susan became a Patrol Officer for the Rockland County Sheriff’s Department, retiring in December 1995. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Spring Valley, NY. She also raised her niece Dorothy Allen and nephew David Holmes. Susan is survived by two daughters, Aurora Santana of Bronx, NY, Fallen Jean-Baptiste of Yonkers, NY; her sister, Ethelina Singletary of Monroe; five grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews.
