Theresa Gayle Leonard

Theresa Davis Leonard, 66, of Monroe, North Carolina passed away on Tuesday morning, July 19,2022. Terry was born November 21, 1955, in Monroe, North Carolina to Thomas and Shirley Davis. She graduated from Forest Hills High School in 1974 and attended NC State University.

She worked for many years in childcare, teaching 3-4-year-olds and high schoolers to become day care workers. She had a love of reading, knitting, and spending time with her family especially her grandchildren. Terry fought a fifteen-year battle with cancer before finally passing. She had a quiet strength and always had a smile, even when she felt bad.

She is survived by her children Libby (Chris) Billotto, Jason (Heather) McNeely and Phillip (Jenni) Leonard; four grandchildren Alyssa, Trent, Gavin, and CJ; parents Tommy and Shirley Davis; her brothers and sister Steve (Sharon) Davis, Mike (Donna) Davis, Debbie (Cam) Stallings and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and aunts and uncles.

She is preceded in death by her grandparents Walter & Nell Davis and Wade & Lessie Helms and her partner of 30 years Wade McCain.

A memorial service will be held at Mount Pleasant Baptist Church on Saturday July 30, 2022 at 2:00 PM The family will receive friends following the service.
