Theresa (Keeter) Smith

Theresa Keeter Smith, 56, of Monroe, passed away Thursday, August 31, 2017 at her home. She was born August 11, 1961 in Mecklenburg County a daughter of the late Herman and Nellie Broome Keeter. She is preceded in death by three sisters, Nancy Hammonds, Lillian Pate and Delane Vestal, two brothers, Nathan Keeter and Frank Keeter. Funeral services for Theresa will be 1:00PM Tuesday, September 5, 2017 in the Gordon Funeral Chapel with Rev. Charles Miller and Rev. Sparks Bradley officiating. Soloist will be Romeo Patterson. Serving as pallbearers will be Terence Patterson, Romeo Patterson, Anthony Taylor, Richard Rush, Cordaro Ivey and Darrell Ratley. Burial will follow in Lakeland Memorial Park. The family will receive friends Tuesday from 11:00AM to 12:45PM at the funeral home. Theresa is survived by her husband Jimmy Smith, three sons, Justin Maynard and his wife Leslie of Monroe, Michael Broadway, Travis Maynard, three daughter, Denise Patterson and her husband Terence of Monroe, Crystal Griffin of Monroe, Tabitha Maynard, three brothers, Arter Keeter of Monroe, Louie Keeter of Monroe, Paul Jones, Jr. three sisters, Ruby Starnes of Wingate, Thelma Smith of Monroe, Debbie Starnes, and nine grandchildren. She also leaves behind a special Son, Jamacion Bennett and a host of nieces and nephews. Gordon Funeral Service and Crematory is caring for the Smith family.
