Thomas Reid “Tom” Hickman, 55, beloved husband, brother, uncle and friend was called home to be with his Lord and Saviour on Monday, Oct. 5, 2015. Tom was born in Cabarrus County on January 9, 1960 and was preceded in death by his father, Robert Benton Hickman and mother, Willie Rayfield Hickman. Tom was a truck driver for many years for US Express and Hughes Supply. He loved riding his motorcycle especially with his church family. He also loved fishing, woodworking and took pleasure in making custom tables to give to family and friends. Tom is survived by his wife, Martha Rushing Hinson Hickman, step-sons, Scott Hinson and wife Joelle and granddaughter, Emi, Mitchell Hinson and wife Renee, brother, Edward Hickman and wife Cheryl of Cary, sister, Cindy Mairs of Mooresville, step-sister, Peggy Swanson and husband Ron of Warwick, RI, and 4 nephews and a niece. A Memorial service will be held at 1:00 PM Saturday, Oct. 10th in the Gordon Funeral Chapel with the visitation to follow. The Rev. Ginger Tucker and Preacher Steve Starling will officiate. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Freedom Biker Church of Monroe, P. O. Box 714, Monroe, NC 28110-0714 Gordon Funeral Service Crematory, 1904 Lancaster Ave., Monroe, NC 28112 is caring for the Hickman family.
