Thomas Charles Kimmett

March 5, 1960 — April 29, 2022

With a heavy heart, the family of Thomas Kimmett,62 of Charlotte, NC formerly of Southern Florida and Marshfield, Massachusetts announce that "Tom" as he was known to his family and many great friends, passed away peacefully at his home on April 29th 2022.

Tom was the beloved and amazing husband to Sharon, supportive and caring father to his pride and joy, Brittany and her husband, Ray Salgado of Monroe, NC. He was the most incredible and cherished grandfather, known as "Granky" to Charlee and Blakelee.

Growing up in Marshfield, he was the son of the late Patrick and Frances Kimmett. Youngest brother to Patrick and his late wife Denise of Marshfield, MA, Robert and his wife Eileen of Kittery, ME. and Kevin of Marshfield, MA.

Tom and Sharon moved from Marshfield to Southern Florida to begin a family. Their daughter, Brittany was born and she became the sparkle in his eyes. Dads are someone to look up to, someone to follow, someone to admire, someone to be proud of, someone to hold and someone to cry with, someone to learn from and someone to respect, someone to listen to and someone to talk to, most important, someone to count on, someone, most of all, with whom to share everything this wonderful life has to offer. That was their relationship, one he was so proud of.

Throughout the years, many friends became like family. Tom and Sharon truly appreciated the uplifting and genuine support received from all of them especially when they first moved to Southern Florida. He enjoyed their Disney trips, including most recently in which was one of his most memorable times there with family and his grandchildren.

They decided to move to Charlotte, NC following good friends from Florida. As in Florida, they met many good friends here as well. Eventually, they became grandparents. No matter how Tom was feeling he always did his best as a husband, father, grandfather or friend. His grandchildren adored their "Granky" as he adored them. He was a great cook and enjoyed creating, preparing and cooking his specialties for others.

"There are these things, scraps and trash in life that we spend our lives blind to
until someone we love leaves us. Then suddenly, we see anything they had touched
for what it really is.... gold. - Brittany

Tom is also survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins.

A private "Celebration of Life" for family and friends will be held next year,
early summer of 2023 in Marshfield.
