Thomas Wade Mcclain

Thomas “Wade” McClain, 94, passed away Tuesday, April 12, 2016. He was born in Mecklenburg County on April 6, 1922, son of the late Thomas Jackson and Mattie Manus McClain. Mr. McClain enjoyed hunting and gardening. He loved his family, especially his grandchildren. Funeral services will be Friday, April 15, 2016 in Waxhaw Baptist Church, 8213 Old Waxhaw-Monroe Road, Waxhaw, NC at 12:00 noon. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will visit with friends and relatives Friday from 11:00 - 11:45 a.m. prior to the funeral. Mr. McClain is survived by his wife, Sarah McGuirt McClain, whom he married November 22, 1942; children, Donald and wife Juanita of Marshville, Judy, Sherry McClain and Davie McClain; grandchildren, Chad, Sean and Clint McClain, Kara Keith, Tammy Rabon, Michelle Plyler and Jonathan McClain; seventeen great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.
