Thomas Milton Moyer, Sr., 88, passed away Tuesday, August 5, 2014. He was born October 23, 1925 in Conesville, OH, son of the late Thomas Milton and Kathryn Shafer Moyer. Mr. Moyer was a WWII veteran, serving in the Pacific Theater. He was a career banker of 39 years, and retired from Bank of Stanly. Funeral services will be Thursday, August 7, 2014 at 2:00 PM in Gordon Funeral Service, 1904 Lancaster Avenue, Monroe, NC 28112. The family will visit with friends and relatives from 12:30 - 1:45 PM prior to the service. Burial will follow the service in Lakeland Memorial Park. Mr. Moyer is survived by his wife, Dorothy Shepler Moyer; son, Thomas M. Moyer, III of Monroe; daughters, Cheryl Chance of Indian Trail and Kay Huggins of Chattanooga; sister, Maxine Bennett of Gastonia; five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
