Tommy Dale Laney

Mr. Tommy Dale Laney, 72, of Monroe went to be with the Lord on Monday, December 23, 2024, at his residence. He was born on July 2, 1952, in Union County, son of the late Pauline Benjamin Laney and Clara Montgomery Laney Simpson. He was the retired owner and operator of Boulevard Radiator Shop in Monroe.

In addition to his parents, he is also preceded in death by siblings, Baby Girl Laney, Ronald Ney Laney, Timothy Richard Laney, Douglas Paul Laney; his step-father, Charlie Edward Simpson; and step-brother-in-law Carroll Benjamin “Chief” Angel.

Tommy is survived by his wife of 50 years, Debbie Mangum Laney; daughter, Lisa D. Laney-Pressley; granddaughter, Nicole D. Pressley; sister-in-law, Dianne Laney Philemon; nephew, Chuck Laney (Barbara); niece, Donica Laney; great-nephews, Greg Laney and Andrew Laney; great-niece, Madison Laney; step-sister, Charlotte Simpson Angel; and her daughter, Candace Hinson.

Funeral services were held on Friday, December 27, 2024 at 2:00 p.m. in the Gordon Funeral Service Chapel, officiated by Pastor Jason Meyers. The visitation was held one hour prior to the service at Gordon Funeral Service, 1904 Lancaster Ave., Monroe, NC 28112. Interment was held following the service at Lakeland Memorial Park.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church, 2524 Stack Rd., Monroe. NC 28112.
