Tsgt. Benjamin James Clouse

TSgt. Benjamin James Clouse, USAF, passed away on Feb. 25th, 2022, as a result of a motorcycle accident in Dixon, CA. Ben was born on Jan. 25, 1993, in Charlotte, NC. He is preceded in passing by his grandfather James Joseph Clouse. He is survived by his parents, Brian and Kathleen Clouse, two brothers, Joesph Furr of Winston Salem, and David and wife Denisha Clouse of Lynchburg, VA, grandparents Thomas and Catherine Ferguson, Carol Clouse, and many loving uncles, aunts, cousins, and friends. He had just left the Air Force after 10 years of dutiful service, first as an engine mechanic on F15's, and with higher aspirations, eventually becoming a Flight Engineer on the KC10, refueling our fighters, mostly in the Middle East. Ben loved life, and took every moment to experience it to the fullest. From SCUBA diving, to hiking, to motorcycle trips to wherever the wind would take him, he did it on his terms, his way. His big dream, after he left the Air Force, was to hike the Appalachian Trail, alone, which was planned for this spring. He had been training for this endeavor for over a year, taking motorcycle trips, hiking, and simply camping on the side of the road, roughing it to get himself prepared for the journey he faced. Always with a book in hand, and a smile on his face. Ben loved life, his friends, and his family. He was truly one of a kind. He will be missed by all who knew him. Ben was an inspiration to all of us, that "if you put your mind to it, you can achieve anything". And he did. A memorial service will be held at Ebenezer Baptist Church, 1417 Unionville-Indian Trail Rd W., Indian Trail, NC 28079 on March 16th, at 6:30PM. All are invited to attend to celebrate the life of this amazing young man.
