Venale Elizabeth Duncan

Mrs. Venale Price Duncan, age 75, of Monroe, NC went home to be with her Lord and Savior, on Sunday, November 18, 2018, surrounded by her family. Venale was born December 7, 1942, in Union County, NC. She attended Unionville Elementary School where she graduated high school. She taught many piano lessons and helped care for the family farm. She served the Lord obediently through her talent as a pianist for the churches she attended. She also shared her musical talent by playing for many weddings and funerals for friends and family in the community. Venale was blessed to be a member of Lakeview Baptist Church where she was a charter member and musician until her journey with Alzheimer’s began. Music was her passion, and she used it faithfully to serve the lord. Venale is preceded in death by her father, Dewitt Clinton Price, her mother Carmen Helms Price. She is survived by her loving husband of 58 years and faithful caregiver, James Thomas Duncan (Tommy), son Rick Duncan (Allison), daughter Annette Purser (Eric), and daughter Rita Price (Rodd); ten grandchildren, Whitney Herman (Mike), Austin Purser, Lorna Soderblom (Zach), Cameron Price, Hunter Purser, Jessie Purser, Tori Duncan, Joshua Price, Justin Purser, and Ava Duncan; great-granddaughter Waverly Ann Herman. She was blessed with three wonderful brother-in-law’s and sister-in-law’s and many nieces and nephews whom she cherished. Venale was blessed with a dear friend, Laura Eury, whom she considered a sister. Laura along with Patsy Carriker were faithful caregivers. Our family is forever grateful for the love and care given to our mother during her journey. The family will receive friends from 11:00AM until 12:45PM on Wednesday, November 21, 2018 at Lakeview Baptist Church, 4602 Concord Hwy, Monroe, NC 28110. Funeral services will be held at 1:00PM, with burial to follow in the church cemetery.
