Vera Mae Linker, 91 was called to her Heavenly home on Sunday, March 18, 2018 at Pruitt Health in Monroe, NC surrounded by her family. She was born on January 27, 1927 in Monroe, NC. She was the daughter of the late Walter George and Allie Mae (Donahue) Griffin, she is also preceded in death by two husbands James Starnes and William Linker, a son Richard Dale Linker, and a grandson. She was a member of HBC and active in her Sunday School Ladies Class. She was a caregiver for the elderly until she could no longer work. She loved her family, reading the Bible. Singing and playing the piano. Funeral services will be held at 2:00pm, Friday , March 23, 2018 at Hopewell Baptist Church, Legacy Campus, 420 Hopewell Church Rd, Monroe NC, 28110. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends and family prior to the service from 12:30pm until 1:45pm will be at Hopewell Baptist Church. She is survived by her children, Junior (Phyllis) Starnes of Holden Beach, Deanie (Steve) Hobbs of Monroe, Sandy (Jimmy) Wyles of Monroe, Donnie (Karen) Linker of Indiana, Mike (Jean) Linker of Beaufort, SC, Carrell (Mary) Linker of Monroe, Darrell (Debbie) Linker of Monroe. Vera Mae was blessed with 16 grandchildren, 37 great grandchildren, and 4 great-great grandchildren.
