Verla Crowder Coleman, 82, of Monroe, NC passed away on Friday, August 28, 2026. She was born in Union County, NC on May 21, 1944, daughter to the late Festus Crowder and Mannie Richardson Crowder. She is also preceded by her five brothers, James, Jazel, Bobby, Wallace and Ronald Crowder, as well as her three sisters, Ruth Allen, Barbara Finney, and Burlia Reid.

A visitation to celebrate Verla’s Life will be held from 4:00PM until 8:00PM on Saturday, September 12, 2026, at Gordon Funeral Service, 1904 Lancaster Ave, Monroe, NC 28112. The family will have a private committal service to be held at Lakeland Memorial Park Cemetery.

Those left to cherish her memory, the love of her life for 47 years, Mr. Al Davis, her beloved brother, Haywood Crowder (Eva), and three sisters, Betty Threatt, Jaunita Webb (June), and Geneva Witherspoon, her special daughter, Christie Reid-Townes (Kwa’Dir), of Paterson, NJ, her special son, Landa Williams (Lisa) of Texas, grandchildren, Ja’Kish Henry, Ja’Mere Henry of Paterson, NJ and a host of nieces and nephews, other relatives and many friends.
