Vernon Roscoe Mical

Vernon Roscoe Mical, 83, of Matthews, NC passed away on Thursday, February 2, 2023. He was born in

Union County on April 21, 1939 son to the late Roscoe Louis Mical and Dezzi Price Mical he is also preceded in death by his two brothers, Edward Lee Mical and Donald “Donnie” Mical; sisters, Brenda Jeanette Springs and Kaye Helms.

A funeral service will be held at 1:00PM on Monday, February 6, 2023 at Gordon Funeral Chapel, with burial to follow in Lakeland Memorial Park. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 12:00PM until 12:45PM at Gordon Funeral Service and Crematory 1904 Lancaster Ave, Monroe, NC 28112.

Vernon graduated from Indian Trail High School with further education from Central Piedmont and Sears Tech Management. He retired from Sears Roebuck with 33 years as District Manager and Training Instructor. He retired to North Myrtle Beach, SC to play golf and was a member of First Baptist Church in North Myrtle Beach, SC.

Vernon is survived by his loving wife Judy Love Mical, son Jeffrey Mical (Karen) of Calabash, NC, daughter Michelle Mical Mitchell (Jeff) of Rolesville, NC, brother Louis Mical (Susie) Monroe, NC, three grandchildren, Matthew Lewis Lawing (Jess) of Durham, NC, Evin Lawing Gold (Ryan) of Charlotte, NC, Sarah Jean Mical of Los Angeles, CA.

Memorials may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital, 501 St. Judes Place, Memphis, TN 38105.  Flowers are also acceptable.
