Violet Rushing Hargett

Dateline: Monroe, NC Violet Rushing Hargett, 94, died Wednesday, April 2, 2008. She was born in Chesterfield County, SC on October 4, 1913 daughter of the late Henry David and Wincie Pierce Rushing. Mrs. Hargett was a retired nurse. Funeral services will be held Saturday, April 5, 2008 at 2:00 PM in First Presbyterian Church of Monroe. Burial will follow in the Monroe City Cemetery. Her husband was the late Emsley Vann Hargett. She is survived by a son, Richard Emsley Hargett and wife, Anita of Charlotte, a daughter, Becky H. Mullis and husband Bobby of Monroe, a sister, Mary Lingle of Monroe, 2 grandchildren, Brian Mullis of Locust and Vann Hargett of Charlotte and 6 great grandchildren. The family will receive friends at the church on Saturday from 1:00 until 1:45. Memorials may be made to the First Presbyterian Church, 302 E. Windsor St., Monroe, NC 28112 or Hospice Palliative Care, 1420 E. 7th St., Charlotte, NC 28204. The family would like to thank the staff of Monroe Square, the nurses of Hospice at Charlotte, as well as Mary and Virginia for their loving care given to Mrs. Hargett.
