Virginia Efird

July 7, 1933 — November 4, 2022

Virginia Ledford Efird, 89, passed away peacefully on Friday, November 4, 2022, surrounded by her family who loved her dearly. She was born July 7, 1933 in Kings Mountain, NC, daughter of the late Clarence Theodore Ledford and Eula Vada Hayes Ledford. She was preceded in death by her husband, Harward Dry Efird, four brothers and her sister.

After graduating from King’s College, Virginia married Harward Efird and together they raised their two sons and daughter. She was very devoted to her church and served as the treasurer for 30+ years. Raising her children and spending time with her beloved grandchildren were two of her greatest joys in life. She loved travelling with her husband all over the United States and spending summers at Lake Tillery and North Myrtle Beach with her children and grandchildren. She lovingly shared her talents of baking and playing cards with the grandchildren. Her renowned red velvet cake cannot be replicated. She made everyone feel special with her kind words, sweet laugh, or by simply holding your hand. Virginia and Harward had a sweet marriage that revolved around loving one another, loving their family and dancing through life.
