Virginia Ann Mills

Virginia Hinsley Mills, 83, of Waxhaw, passed away Friday, November 19, 2021. She was born in Chatham County on February 13, 1938 a daughter of the late Rex and Eunice Mitchell Hinsley. Also preceded in death by her husband, Curtis Mills, her oldest daughter, Debbie Crye and only son, Derwood Mills. Funeral services for Virginia will be held 11:00 AM Saturday, November 27, 2021 in Weatherby Hall at Central Church, 5301 Sardis Road Charlotte, NC 28270, with burial at 1:00 PM Saturday in Forest Lawn West Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 10:00 AM to 10:45 AM Saturday in Weatherby Hall prior to the service. Virginia was the first female supervisor at Mikatron Abrasives in Pineville retiring after over 25 years of service. She was a member of Central Church in Charlotte. She loved gardening, growing tomatoes, flowers and vacationing at the beach. She was a loving wife, mother, sister, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend. Virginia is survived by two daughters, Teresa Mills of Indian Land, Suzie Mills-Smith (Matt) of Indian Land, two brothers, Ronald Hinsley (Madge) of New Hill, NC, Johnny Hinsley (Martha) of New Hill, NC, four sisters, Linda Hinsley of Clayton, NC, Darlene Coats of Hampstead, NC, Jackie Hendricks (Len) of Cary, NC, Nancy Huey (Harry) of Waxhaw, six grandchildren, Jerry Crye, Jr., Heather Crye, Amber Smith, Amanda Martin (Taylor), Brandon Smith, Sommer Mills and one great-grandchild, Noah Martin.
