Virginia Smith Mullis

Mrs. Virginia Dare Smith Mullis, 88, of Monroe, NC passed away Saturday, November 30, 2019. She was born in Stanly County on May 27, 1931 to the late Edmond and Ila Eudy Smith. She was also preceded in death by her husband of nearly 60 years Ralph Wilson Mullis. A funeral service will be held at 1:00pm, Saturday, December 7, 2019 at Mill Creek Baptist Church, where she was a lifelong member. Burial will follow in Lakeland Memorial Park. Virginia is survived by her son Brent Edmond Mullis (Kathy), of Monroe, daughter, Elizabeth “Beth” Dawn Mullis, of Monroe, two sisters; Doris S. Preslar of Monroe, and Vivian S. Price, of Charlotte, brother-in-law, Herbert Thomas of Fort Mill, SC and sister-in-law, Hazel Smith, of Fort Mill, SC three grandchildren; Eli Mullis of Seattle, WA Shelby Moretz of Fort Hood, TX and Allison Mullis of Monroe, as well as numerous niece, nephews and great nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 5:00pm until 7:00pm Friday, December 6, 2019 at Gordon Funeral Service, 1904 Lancaster Ave, Monroe, NC 28112.
