It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and sister, Virginia Margaret Stepnick (Esposito), who departed peacefully on August 25, 2025, at the age of 84. She was surrounded by her devoted family, exemplifying the warmth, wisdom, and unwavering love she generously bestowed upon us throughout her life. Virginia was born on June 6, 1941, in Portland, Maine, to Vincent and Camella (Rumo) Esposito.
She graduated from Portland High School and proudly dedicated 23 years of service to Blue Cross Blue Shield before her retirement. Her life was characterized by grace, kindness, and a steadfast commitment to her family. She was the devoted wife of Regis Frank Stepnick and a proud mother and grandmother. Her legacy endures through her grandchildren, who brought immense joy to her life.
Virginia possessed a remarkable ability to make each person feel valued and special. Whether through her culinary talents-particularly her renowned whoopie pies, Italian cookies, and fudge-her heartfelt advice, or her infectious laughter, she effortlessly brought happiness to all who knew her. She was a pillar of strength, a source of comfort, and a guiding light for her family. Her passions included cooking and gardening. She had an affinity for science fiction shows and often spent her leisure time assembling puzzles or Lego sets. Virginia's great sense of humor and her storytelling about her childhood further endeared her to those around her.
While our hearts are heavy with grief, we find solace in knowing that her love and legacy will forever remain with us. Though she will be deeply missed, her memory will endure eternally. In accordance with her wishes, a private funeral service will be held for immediate family members at Salisbury National Cemetery, where she will be laid to rest.
