Virginia Carol Wilson, 49, went to be with her Lord on July 25, 2016. She had been a resident of Monroe, NC, since 1989, when she moved here with her parents from Illinois. Her home was at 3208 Clarkdale St. in Monroe, but most recently, she made her residence at Elizabethan Gardens in Monroe. She was preceded in death by her parents Robert Walter Wilson and Madie Riley Wilson. She is survived by five siblings and their families, as well as aunts, uncles, and many cousins. Her siblings include Linda Ingram and husband Rob, and their children Brianna and Christopher, of Waxhaw, NC, Patricia Nichols and husband John, and their children Shelby and Shane, of Godfrey IL, David Wilson of Dalton GA, Timothy Wilson and wife Anjeli, and their children Joshua, Kaleb, Samuel, and Rebecca, of White House, TN, and Tom Wilson and wife Wendy, of Marshville, NC. Carol, as she was known to her family, was one of God's special souls. She was autistic and suffered from epilepsy, but she maintained a sunny disposition and was a sweet and caring soul. She worked in the past with vocational rehab, and most recently was a silverware roller with Chili's restaurant in Monroe. She touched all who knew her and will be greatly missed. Her family would like to thank the nurses and staff at Elizabethan Gardens in Monroe, as well as her special friend Roger, for making her final days happy ones. There will be a visitation held Thursday evening, July 28, 2016, from 5:00 until 7:00 PM at Gordon Funeral Service, 1904 Lancaster Ave., Monroe, NC 28112.
