Walter Fred “Nick” Nichols, 82, passed away Tuesday, September 13, 2022 at his home in Waxhaw, NC. He was born in Jefferson County, AL on June 26, 1940, son of the late William Fred Nichols and Gladys Elliott Nichols.

The family will be hosting a Celebration of Life Service Saturday, October 8, 2022.

Walt was the patriarch of a loving family and proudly served the US Marine Corps where he achieved expert marksman status during his four years of active duty service.

Walt is survived by his loving wife, Barbara Meredith Nichols, his son Walter Britt Nichols of Waxhaw, daughter Kelly Reeves (Chris) of York, SC, sister Teresa Childs (Jim, deceased) of Leeds, AL, grandchildren; Britney Maston, Abby Maston, Noah Maston, Hannah Hartman (Michael) and Kyle Reeves (Cierra), great-grandchildren; Tyler, Annika, Carter and Silas, and four fur babies, Belle, Beau, Ronin and River.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital, 501 St Jude’s Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
