Walter Worth Whitaker, Jr.

Walter “Worth” Whitaker, Jr., 84, passed away Thursday, September 11, 2025. He was born April 20, 1941 in Union County, NC, son of the late Walter Worth Whitaker, Sr. and Nell Guion Coan.

Mr. Whitaker is survived by his wife, Adele Morgan Whitaker; son, Walter Craig Whitaker (Kathy) of Indian Trail, NC; daughter, Rochelle Leigh Chacra (Chris) of Waxhaw, NC; four grandchildren and one great-granddaughter.

Worth was a devoted police officer and retired from the Charlotte Mecklenburg Police Department.

A graveside service will be held Monday, September 15, 2025 at 11:00 AM in Lakeland Memorial Park, 1901 Lancaster Avenue, Monroe, NC 28112, with burial to follow in the Lakeland Memorial Park.
